Frequently Asked Questions

What is podiatry?

Podiatry is a specialised branch of medicine that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of conditions affecting the foot, ankle, and lower extremities. Podiatrists are trained healthcare professionals who provide comprehensive care for a wide range of foot-related issues.

Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?

In most cases, you do not need a referral to see a podiatrist. Podiatrists are primary healthcare providers, which means you can schedule an appointment directly with them. However, it's always a good idea to check with your insurance provider to determine if they require a referral for coverage purposes.

Do you accept Medicare or private insurance?

Yes, in order to receive benefits from Medicare, you must present with a referral from your doctor. Consults without a referral will be charged as a normal consultation. We also accept from all private health insurers; you may be asked to pay a GAP fee depending on your cover. It's important to check with your insurance provider to understand the extent of your coverage.
